Barbara Koot
In 1981, When she was 7 years old, Barbara Koot started riding horses at a riding school. At the age of 11 her parents Bought Barbara her first pony and riding time became a very important part of her life. Jo Ward, who later Became the coach of the National Team, Became trainer to Barbara and started riding developing her riding skills. At 15 years of age she was selected for the Dutch team and we won a gold medal at the European Championships. (Later Barvara`s sister competed at the European Championships with the Same pony and won medals, too.) she loved the sport of dressage. Came the opportunity for her to pursue Improving her skill with the arrival of Controversy [KWPN, father: Pretender]. He was a big chestnut with a lot of fire and talent, and only 5 years old, he was not trained yet so she had a lot of work to do with him.
In 1992, 3 years later, Controversy and she competed at the European Championship Young Riders for the first time, winning a silver and a bronze medal. In 1994 and 1995 they competed again winning the gold medal. A year later the pair started Competing at Grand Prix. During there first competition season.
She found a new talented horse in Galliano (KWPN, father: Aktion). His Former owner had a lot of trouble with him. Galliano was at second level When she Purchased him. After giving him clean training they started there career at Grand Prix level competition. In 2000 they qualified for the World Cup Finals, and was placed 8th. The Dutch coach Invited us to join the Dutch team and We Were Placed A reserve for the Olympic Games in Sydney!

Greg will check out a horse you are considering for purchase. This includes what he thinks about the attitude, some things you should look for, and some of the things a vet normally checks for. Fee varies on the location of horse.

Our mission at Summit Stables is for our clients and boarders to have a safe and pleasant time with their horses. Greg Bowman, the owner and trainer, has grown up around horses and has over 30 years training experience. He attributes his unique training method to adapting "relationship skill training" that he taught and used while teaching a magnet program for behavioral problem students. During his 15 years of teaching he realized he could apply these same principles to relating with horses. Thus, his "Dancing with Horses" method was born. That was over 20 years ago. Having a degree in Psychology, as well as teaching, has not only added to his long time practical knowledge of "horse ways", but has made him an excellent communicator of this method to others. Being a natural teacher, Greg`s greatest joy is to see his clients truly "Dance with their horses". He gives 150% of himself to that pursuit.

There is no need to trailer to Wilder State Park or Gray Whale State Park, you can saddle up at Coast Road Stables and ride in from here. There is over 5,000 acres of State Trails and over 300 acres of Private Coast Road Stables Trail Riding. Check out our 4 arenas and 3 round pens and turnouts.

One Month Training $650.00 This can be from Starting a horse to Finishing a horse or working($200 Board Included) on a specific talent, ie: Barrel Racing, etc. (Typically All Horses are Ready to go Home after ONLY 1 Month) We do Not have a minimum of 3 Months like Most Trainers and the last week of training is extremely important for you to be there so the bond can be transferred to you, you feel comfortable on your horse and Greg can address your questions, etc. However, You are welcome to view ANY sessions as long as it fits in both your schedules.

We can sell your horse for you. We have had great success with this. We have a tremendous amount of traffic and people feel comfortable having a knowledgeable 3rd party reference. Some of the services include advertising on the web, grooming, riding, showing the horse, etc. The fee is 10% of the selling price plus full care board of $200. a month.
